Beckwith selected for Leadership Florida Class

Samira K. Beckwith, president and CEO of Hope HealthCare Services, has been selected for the Leadership Florida Class XXVIII.

Locally, Hope Hospice runs Hope Chest, the thrift store located at 13821 N. Cleveland Ave., Suite 1, in North Fort Myers, and Hospice House North in Cape Coral.

Created in 1982 by the Florida Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Florida builds a sense of statewide community by identifying and training individuals who have a passion and commitment to make a difference in their communities.

Beckwith has led Hope since 1991 and has more than 30 years of health care and hospice experience. She is past president of the Florida Hospices and Palliative Care Organization (FHPCO), representing Florida’s hospice care providers. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush described her as a visionary who provides leadership on a local and national level – passionate about ensuring the highest quality of service in her role as President of Hope.

Beckwith received her masters of social work of arts in sociology from The Ohio State University College of Social Work. She was among the first inductees into the Alumni Hall of Fame, in recognition of her significant contributions to the profession.
