They came in suits and other business attire, from North Fort Myers to Cape Coral to as far away as Naples to be part of the recent Harley-Davidson Ladies Only Garage Party, an educational and fun experience dubbed Harley 101.

Many North Fort Myers professional women took part in the event, including NFM resident and recent Riders’ Edge graduate Kimberly Smith, Carter-Pritchett Advertising’s Meredith Pooler, Pearl Brand Communications’ Wendy Payton, along with Kerri Weiner, Go Tube USA’s CFO Claudia Eller, Dee Zumbo and Wendy Battles.

There were six stations that the women rotated through, to educate them about the sport of motorcycling, from how to customize a bike to fit your size, to what to wear for protection and comfort. They also got to try a ride on the store’s demonstrator Jumpstart Machine.

John Dempsey is the service manager of the location, and guided the women through service questions with a smile.

Jennifer Ferraro is the assistant marketing coordinator at the shop.

“When I explain the the event, I say it is a way to get your toes wet, before taking the Rider’s Edge Academy. The Academy is where they learn how to operate a motorcycle and get their motorcycle endorsement so they can be “street legal.”‘
