Hoglund Hearing Center comes to North Fort Myers

2 min read

John Hoglund and his wife, Patricia, already had two offices in Bonita Springs and Estero. Placing a third office in the north end of the county seemed the right thing.

So, in September, the Hoglunds opened their third Hoglund Family Hearing Center at 88 Pine Island Road, Suite 3, which specializes in screenings and educating people about possible treatment for hearing loss and tinnitus (ringing ear), and offers complimentary screenings and consultations.

The Hoglunds bring more than 60 years of experience in the field, and started in Southwest Florida in 2002 after John worked for many years for another office in Bradenton and Patricia started her career building hearing aids.

Slowly, the business grew, with John owning a location for three years in Cape Coral before selling it.

The Hoglunds knew Terry Tucker, who owns Tucker Vision Care Center and has been in business for 25 years. They always wanted to join forces and Hoglund felt the time was right, as those who were driving from North Fort Myers to Estero were tired of the commute.

“Hearing and vision has always gone well together and we refer to it as ‘the checkup from the neck up,'” John said. “It’s a one-stop shop.”

Among the services the Hoglunds provide are free full hearing evaluations, service and repair every hearing aid model with free estimates, and perform free tinnitus evaluations.

They can also line up services with seasonal residents for when they return north or choose to relocate here.

They also have an arthroscope where a camera is inserted in the ear so people can see on a video screen what’s going on.

Hoglund added that he’s doing an educational seminar in February and March at the Shell Factory’s Captain Fishbone’s restaurant.

“We’re doing a lunch and learn. It’s a chance to learn about their hearing in a relaxed atmosphere,” Hoglund said. “Hearing is an aspect of health that people don’t know nearly as much as they’d like.”

The Hoglunds also have the Hoglund Family Hearing and Audiology Center in Bonita Springs and the Southwest Florida Tinnitus and Hearing Center in Estero.

Hoglund Family Hearing Center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with Thursdays by appointment only.
