Shell Factory to hold Easter celebration for the kids

2 min read

It will be a fun day for the kids when the Shell Factory & Nature Park opens its doors on Easter Sunday.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the historic family destination will play host to hundreds of kids and their families for a kids-centric holiday celebration, featuring fun activities and specials to make sure nobody gets bored.

The event, which drew more than 300 children last year, is expected to bring in even more this time around, and is the second of three huge events the Shell Factory will put on in consecutive weekends.

The Dock Dogs regional championships were held there this past weekend, and the Taste of North Fort Myers will be held next weekend.

Rick Tupper, CFO and marketing director of the Shell Factory, said this year will bring some new features, but you’d better get your kids signed up in advance if they want to hunt for eggs.

“You have to register before the Easter egg hunt this year. Last year we had a mountain of kids come, and this year you have to register.

Among the events will be a kid-friendly buffet from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the Easter Bunny, who will also be available for pictures with the children. The buffet will feature chicken fingers, ham and other things children would enjoy, Tupper said.

This time there will also be live entertainment with Mike Glean from noon to 4 p.m., a petting farm in the parking lot for the kids, special pricing for the fun park and 10 percent off all toys in the toy department.

It will also be the first Easter with the zip line, which has been a huge hit.

But the main event will be the Easter egg hunt at 2 p.m. for all kids 12 and under.

The kids will be split into three age groups and they will have a go at finding all sorts of goodies.

“For the parents, it’s a great place to go if you don’t feel like cooking,” Tupper said. “Come to the Shell Factory.”

The Shell Factory and Nasture Park is at 2787 N Tamiami Trail in North Fort Myers.
