From low-priced to luxury, Southern Trust Auto Outlet offers vehicles for all budgets
Southern Trust Auto Outlet offers an array of used vehicles for any kind of budget, taste, and most important, credit history, officials there say
The dealership at 14030 N. Cleveland Ave., near the corner of Pondella Road on the northbound side, has been in business for nearly two decades.
Marc Milstein, general sales manager, said with the financing company they work with, all cars have a two-year warranty, with monthly payments and down payments that are reasonable.
“We cater to people who are 55 and over, as well as young people that have less credit. We stick with 2005 to 2013 models, convertibles, coupes, trucks,” Milstein said. “We have expensive cars, low-end vehicles, we have something for everyone.”
Cars also get a 30-day power train warranty on their own cars with less than 100,000 miles. Southern Trust doesn’t sell many cars with more than 100,000 miles on them, but trucks can go as high as 150,000 miles, since they’re built to last.
Milstein said for people with low credit scores, $1,000 down can get them financed (with some being able to drive off with $99 down). But they also serve people who have great credit, but prefer a pre-owned car.
“The average age of cars on the road is 11 years old. People who can’t afford a new car can come to us to get a new used car with a warranty,” Milstein said.
Southern Trust has been in business for 18 years, using Piney Auto to do their repairs and service on vehicles before they go to the sales lot, if deemed worthy.
It’s their commitment to quality and customer service that allowed them to get through the tough times and be named a “Best of” car dealer three years running, Milstein said.
“We treat people with respect no matter their credit. We don’t degrade anyone for that. We want to build their credit,” Milstein said. “It takes time to rebuild and they have been rebuilding. People are buying more trucks and I see a great year ahead for us.”
The company has between 65 and 75 cars on the lot at any time, with 20 others in line waiting to be placed. They sell between 50 cars off season to as many as 70 per month during season.
And if a car sits on the lot too long, Southern Trust will sell it for a dealer fee plus cost, which the dealership says means more savings for buyers. These are marked with a red tag.
Southern Trust is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
