Lee County Domestic Animal Services Animal Services is holding its 2nd annual “Flip This Kennel-Christmas Edition” competition. The outside of a dog kennel or cattery will be decorated in holiday themes to help bring attention to adoptable pets.

The competition will be held Saturday, Dec. 10, when visitors can come to the shelter and vote for their favorite kennel or cattery. All pets in a decked-out run will have adoption fees waived that day with an approved application. People also may vote on Animal Service’s Facebook page by liking the picture of their favorite and winners will be announced on Sunday, Dec. 11.

The adoption package includes spay or neuter, microchip, up-to-date vaccinations, county license and a 10-day health guarantee. This is a $600 package. Volunteers and staff are waiting to introduce a new family member 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday at the adoption center, 5600 Banner Drive in Fort Myers.
