Lee County operations adjust schedules for the holidays

Most Lee County administrative operations will be closed Friday, Dec. 23, through Monday, Dec. 26, in observance of the Christmas holiday, as well as on Friday, Dec. 30 through Monday, Jan. 2, for the New Year’s holiday.
The holiday schedule adjustments:
Solid Waste
• All garbage, recycling and yard waste collections in unincorporated Lee County, the City of Bonita Springs, the Village of Estero and the Town of Fort Myers Beach will continue on the regular collection days through the holidays. This is because the holidays fall on the weekends.
• Administrative offices and the Topaz Court facilities will be closed Friday, Dec. 23, Monday, Dec. 26, Friday, Dec. 30, and Monday, Jan. 2, resuming normal operating hours Tuesday, Jan. 3.
• Disposal facility hours for Saturday, Dec. 24, and Saturday, Dec. 31:
• Buckingham facilities open 6 a.m. – noon.
• All Hendry County facilities open 7 a.m. – noon.
• Topaz Court will be open 8 a.m. – noon on Saturday, Jan. 7.
• Christmas trees that have had the stand and all lights and decorations removed, including tinsel, can be set out with regular yard waste and will be ground into mulch. All wrapping paper, except metallic, is recyclable – along with cardboard boxes. Plastic ribbons, bows and lights are not recyclable.
LeeTran
• LeeTran will operate its regularly scheduled bus service on Saturday, Dec. 24. There will be no bus, trolley or Passport service on Sunday, Dec. 25. Routes will resume on Monday, Dec. 26.
• LeeTran will operate its regularly scheduled bus service on Saturday, Dec. 31. There will be no bus, trolley or Passport service on Sunday, Jan. 1. Routes will resume on Monday, Jan. 2.

• The Blue and Gold River District Trolley Lines will run until 1 a.m. on New Years to accommodate New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Parks & Recreation
• Friday, Dec. 23, Saturday, Dec. 24, Sunday, Dec. 25, and Monday, Dec. 26, some boat ramps, parks and preserves will be open. Check www.leeparks.org for the list of open locations. All beach parks remain closed at this time.
• The Administration office will be closed Friday, Dec. 23 and Monday, Dec. 26, resuming normal operating hours Tuesday, Dec. 27.
• Pools are closed Saturday, Dec. 24, through Monday, Dec. 26, some resuming normal operating hours Tuesday, Dec. 27. Visit www.leeparks.org for the list of open locations.
• Friday, Dec. 30, Saturday, Dec. 31, Sunday, Jan. 1 and Monday, Jan. 2, some boat ramps, parks and preserves will be open. Check www.leeparks.org for the list of open locations. All beach parks remain closed at this time.

• The county’s three recreation centers – North Fort Myers, Veterans and Estero – will be closed through the holidays due to scheduled annual maintenance. They will be closed from Saturday, Dec. 24, through Sunday, Jan. 8. For alternative parks sites, visit www.leeparks.org. The centers will re-open Monday, Jan. 9. Wa-Ke Hatchee Recreation Center remains closed at this time.
Lee County Library System
• Saturday, Dec. 24 through Monday, Dec. 26: All libraries will be closed. Libraries will resume regular hours on Tuesday, Dec. 27. Administrative offices and Talking Book Library will be closed Friday, Dec. 23, and Monday, Dec. 26, resuming normal operating hours Tuesday, Dec. 27.
• Saturday, Dec. 31 through Monday, Jan. 2: All libraries will be closed. Libraries will resume regular hours on Tuesday, Jan. 3. Administrative offices and Talking Book Library will be closed Friday, Dec. 30, and Monday, Jan. 2, resuming normal operating hours Tuesday, Jan. 3.
• Lakes Regional Library, currently serving as a FEMA Disaster Recovery Center, and the Captiva Memorial Library remain closed post-Hurricane Ian.
• The online library is always available at www.leelibrary.net/online.
Lee County Domestic Animal Services
• Saturday, Dec. 24 through Monday, Dec. 26, the Lost & Found Pet Center and the Pet Adoption Center will be closed. Normal hours resume Tuesday, Dec. 27, at 5600 Banner Drive, Fort Myers.
• Friday, Dec. 30, and Saturday, Dec. 31, the Lost & Found Pet Center and the Pet Adoption Center will be closed. Normal hours resume Monday, Jan. 2.

Lee County Utilities
• The drive-thru window will be closed Friday, Dec. 23, through Monday, Dec. 26, and will reopen Tuesday, Dec. 27. The drive-thru window will be closed Friday, Dec. 30 through Monday, Jan. 2 and will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
• A drop-box is on-site at the front door and another is accessible via the drive-thru for payments by check.
• A drop-box is also available at the Lee County Community Development/Public Works Center located at 1500 Monroe St., Fort Myers (near the eastern entrance on Monroe Street).
• The Call Center will be closed Friday, Dec. 23, through Monday, Dec. 26, and will reopen Tuesday, Dec. 27. The Call Center will be closed Friday, Dec. 30 through Monday, Jan. 2 and will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
