Lee Board thanks residents for providing input on disaster recovery grant funding

The Lee Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday thanked community members for their participation in nine public input meetings and the commission meeting regarding the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery funding.
Staff provided commissioners with an update on the public input garnered throughout August. The plan will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development no later than Sept. 20. HUD’s approval of the plan is anticipated by the end of the calendar year and programs are expected to be rolled out in 2024.
The CDBG-DR website will continue to serve as an informational resource for CDBG-DR activities. Interested parties are encouraged to visit leegov.com/recovery/cdbg-dr for updates.
Lee County’s Office of Strategic Resources and Government Affairs has prepared a timeline describing the necessary steps and other information at the website.
