St. Therese Church
Arts & Crafts Festival
St. Therese Church, located at 20115 N. Tamiami Trail, will hold an Arts & Crafts Festival on Wednesday, Feb. 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday, Feb. 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Quality artists and craftsmen from all over the country will be featured. Food, fun and shopping.
Morgan Stanley
to hold garage sale
Morgan Stanley, 7811 University Point off Summerlin Road between CollegeAvenue and Cypress Lake Drive, will hold a garage sale from 7 to 10 a.m.,Saturday, Feb. 21.

Tai Chi classes
Tai Chi (pronounced “tie chee”) is an ancient Chinese martial art that has been practiced for many years and has numerous style variations. Many refer to Tai Chi as meditation in motion.
Classes will be held at the North Fort Myers Community Center located at 2021 N. Tamiami Trail, behind the North Fort Myers Library.
Call 652-6002 to sign up. Classes start March 10 and run through April 2, Tuesdays and Thursdays 1 to 2 p.m. Cost is $56 (4 weeks/8 classes.) Register by calling 533-7440.
Civic Association meeting
with Waterways Estates issue
The North Fort Myers Civic Association will hold their annual membership meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 24.
The meeting will be held at the Community of Christ Church, 368 Heron Rd., North Fort Myers, at 7 p.m. Lee County Commissioner Tammy Hall will be at the meeting. She will be updating on the Waterway Estates Sewer issue and the planned Recreational Center for North Fort Myers. There will also be two speakers on the Juvenile Assessment and Addiction Services available in the County.
North Fort Myer’s residents are encouraged to attend and join. Let your ideas and concerns be known. There is power in numbers, so join us, to work for an optimistic future for North Fort Myers. There will be a question and answer period, time permitting.

Buccaneer Spring Craft Bazaar
Bucaneer Homeowner’s Association will hold its annual Spring Craft Bazaar in its recreation hall on Saturday, Feb. 28 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Handmade crafts including stained glass, ceramics, doll clothes, jewelry, paintings, quilts and more. Bake sale and basket raffles. Lunch will be served from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free parking and admission.

Sanibel Conservation Forum Rescheduled to March 4
The Annual Conservation Forum at BIG ARTS, originally scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 17, has been rescheduled to Tuesday, March 4.
South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) Governing Board Vice-Chair, Shannon Estenoz will participate in the Annual Conservation Lecture at BIG ARTS sponsored by the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF), BIG ARTS and the Everglades Foundation. Participants will focus on Everglades restoration and the advantages of the U.S. Sugar Corp. land acquisition to Southwest Florida.
The presentation will be followed by an interactive public participation panel discussion and question-and-answer session.
Strength Training & Toning classes
Safely build muscles and tone your body through a variety of techniques and stretches. This one-hour class will teach you basic techniques, such as squats, lunges, bicep curls, push-ups, and more. You will improve your muscle mass, bone density and metabolism with simple exercises that yield big results. Classes fill up quickly, register early.
The cost is $28 in February and $30 for March and April. Nine classes for the months of March and April. Classes take place every Tuesday and Thursday for one hour from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. at the North Fort Myers Community Center located behind the NFM Library at 2021 N. Tamiami Trail.

The Sabal Springs Arts & Crafts Association will hold its Trash and Treasure Sale on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 8 a.m. to noon.
The event will be held at the Sabal Springs Golf and Racquet Club at the community. located on US 41 one mile North of the Shell Factory.

Father Anglim Academy is hosting a Texas Hold’em Charity Tournament open to the public at Knights of Columbus, 4040 Princeton Street, Fort Myers on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. Entrance fee for pre-registration is $40,

Knitting Group
Mystery solved! A group named after Agatha Christie’s famous knitting sleuth, Miss Marple, meets at the North Fort Myers library on the first Tuesday of each month at 2 p.m. Everyone who knits, crochets, sews and quilts is welcome.

Edison Festival of Light
The Edison Festival of Light Annual Arts and Crafts Show, Crafts on the River will be held Feb. 20-22 in Centennial Park. The park will be transformed into a craft lovers dream with exhibitors displaying their handmade crafts and art during the three-day event. Pancake Breakfasts
to benefit Lions Club Charities
The Fort Myers Lions Club will again hold its popular All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfasts on Sundays March 1 and April 5. For a $5 donation, it’s pancakes, eggs, sausage, juice and coffee. The events run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Lions Den located at 1927 Victoria Ave. in Ft. Myers. (Take US 41 South, second stoplight over the bridge then turn right.) Proceeds benefit Lions Club charities.
Glow in the Dark
Golf Tournament
The second annual “Glow in the Dark” golf tournament being offered by the Uncommon Friends Foundation is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 27. Individuals and foursomes may register to participate in the fun-filled event being held at the Riverbend Golf & Riverclub, North Fort Myers.
The public is invited to participate in the nine-hole event, which will benefit the Uncommon Friends Foundation character education fund. Golfers of all ages may register; golfing skills are not required-just a sense of humor. The individual entry fee is $85; foursomes may play for $320. Registration for the event will begin at 5:30 p.m., with dinner served from 6 to 7 p.m. The shotgun start begins at 7:15. The registration fee includes dinner and “glow in the dark” golfing equipment. A variety of prizes will be provided.
Sponsorships are available for individual holes, prizes, carts, and the dinner. Items are also being sought for raffle prizes and to be included in the “goody bags.”

Diplomat Wesleyan Church 14th Annual Strawberry Festival
Mark your calendars for the 14th Annual Strawberry Festival at Diplomat Wesleyan Church, located at 1833 Diplomat Pkwy., E., Cape Coral. Do you like strawberry shortcake? You can get plenty of it at the Festival, Saturday, March 14, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Diplomat Wesleyan Church, Cape Coral. Free general admission. Come for children’s activities including bounce houses and skits by professional acting team, Acts4Him; good food, vendors’ wares, opportunities with service organizations, and, back for the third year in a row, the 10-member Doerfel Family playing bluegrass music.
