Final event for Tara Woods Entertainment Season
It’s been a great year for the Tara Woods 2008-2009 Entertainment Season. A series of popular local events will culminate with a March 27 performance by ventriloquist Peggy Miller.
“We’ve had a successful year despite the economy,” said Tara Woods entertainment spokesperson Chuck Poveromo. He’s a member of the Tara Woods Sound and Lighting Committee, the group that organizes the shows.
“The performances have been great. A lot of our residents were here, and many came from outside our community to see the shows.”
He said the feedback has been extremely positive.
The group hosts shows from November through March, now on a new soundstage with new sound equipment.
It is a labor of love, said Poveromo. The goal is not only to entertain the community, but also to make Northern guests enjoy the stay.
The shows will culminate with a March 27 performance by ventriloquist Peggy Miller to end the series. Miller will come with sidekick “Willie” who sings and wisecracks. Peggy Miller’s Willie & Company show will be joined by Bakey and Betty’s Country Musicians for that show.
The community would like to acknowledge all of the members of the Sound and Lighting Committee or “team” that worked so hard during the 2008-2009 entertainment season.
Committee members include Jim Brown, Lloyd Kelsey, Dennis Bayer, Polly Brown, Dave Mews, Lloyd Vickers and Poveromo.
“We are in the final process of selecting entertainers for next year,” said Poveromo. “It will again start in November of next year and run through March.”
