Miracle Baseball “Got Well Party” April 22
Miracle Baseball will host a “Got Well Party” for a special dog. Willow, a one-year-old Shepherd mix, came to Lee County Animal Services in late January 2009 with a devastating case of mange that had been neglected for many months. She made a miraculous recovery following a blood transfusion and proper treatment for her condition. Now she is ready to be a permanent family member in a loving, life-long home. Interested adopters may meet Willow on April 22 at the Miracle vs. the Palm Beach Cardinals game at Hammond Stadium, off Six Mile Cypress Pkwy. Game time is 7:05 pm and gates open at 6:00 pm.
Interested persons may complete an adoption application at the game. All applications will be reviewed and the family that will make the best match for Willow will be evaluated by the shelter staff. All of Willow’s visitors at the game will receive a sample of Bil-Jac Premium Food and Treats for their own pets.
Following the first three weeks of treatment for her condition, Willow spent the rest of her recovery in a foster home. Her foster mom will be on hand to answer questions about Willow’s personality and needs. She can also give great insight into the special kind of love that Willow can give to a new family. She loves to be petted and touched-something she was not able to experience during most of her life as her skin was so painful when touched. Willow has missed all the typical puppy experiences a dog goes through. Making up for lost time, she loves to play with other dogs and enthusiastically greets any person she sees. Willow even gets along with cats.
A few of Willow’s canine friends from the shelter that also need good homes will accompany her to the Miracle game. Donations of supplies for the shelter and the Community Pet Pantry are welcome and all monetary donations to the Animal Care Trust Fund will help more pets like Willow make a miraculous recovery.
