Bring the kids to the Nature Park at the Shell Factory located at 2787 N. Tamiami Trail and they will be able to hand feed and pet a variety of animals including Puff the alpaca; Princess the Zebra; and Ezmeralda the mule. Other animals in the park are goats, African serval cats, llamas, groundhogs and a variety of birds and lizards.
The Shell Factory also has bumper boats, miniature golf, the famous “Waltzing Waters” show and an arcade for the kids. Once inside and adults will find all the souvenirs they need to bring back to friends and family back home.
Down the road, the Public Library offers a number of fun-filled activities for visitors of all ages.
Behind the library is the North Community Park equipped with a playground, shuffleboard court, disc golf area, tennis courts and a football field. Come visit and let the kids burn some energy for the afternoon.
