Back to School Pet Adoption Special at Lee County Domestic Animal Services

2 min read

Lee County Domestic Animal Services (LCDAS) kicks off a month long adoption promotion beginning September 1st. The Back to School Pet Adoption Special, will promote the shelter’s many wonderful pets experiencing even more difficulty than usual finding homes during current economic conditions. Throughout September adopters will receive $25 of the regular adoption fee when they donate 10 lbs. of sealed cat food to help re-stock the agency’s Community Pet Pantry.

LCDAS hopes to replenish the Pantry’s critically low supply of cat food. The Pantry currently feeds more than 500 dogs and cats whose owners are receiving public assistance and cannot afford pet food and supplies. Qualified owners are also eligible to receive vaccinations and sterilizations for their pets if needed.

Again, when adopters donate 10 lbs. of sealed cat food they will receive $25 off the regular adoption fees for dogs and cats which range from $25 to $95 depending on age. The adoption fee will still include spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate vaccinations, rabies and county license (for pets 3 months and older), heartworm test (for dogs 6 months and older), feline aids and leukemia test (for cats), flea treatment, worming, microchip ID, 10 day health guarantee, and a bag of Science Diet pet food. The entire adoption package is valued at $500.
