Driver’s License Checkpoint
A driver’s license checkpoint is scheduled for sometime in the next week at an undisclosed location in Lee County. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is committed to safety on the roadways, and a driver’s license checkpoint will help identify and apprehend drivers who do not possess a valid driver’s license or may be driving with a revoked or suspended license. Checkpoints will also aide in detecting individuals who have not properly registered or insured their vehicle.
Driver’s license checkpoints are a Lee County Sheriff Office traffic safety initiative designed to educate and inform the public about traffic safety issues, and help curb traffic fatalities, injuries, crashes, and illegal activity in Lee County.
Media inquiries are directed to the Public Information Officer at 239-477-1340 prior to the scheduled operation.
