School district announces college night

2 min read

It’s never too early for students to start gathering information on what they want to do after they graduate from high school. Some will be going on to college, while others may be looking for specialized training to enter the world of work. No matter which path they may take, students will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from various institutions of learning, thanks to the College Night event.

College Night 2009, hosted by Lee County Public Schools and the City of Fort Myers, is being held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, September 23rd at the Harborside Event Center, 1375 Monroe St., Fort Myers.

The City of Fort Myers has agreed to cover the cost for the use of the Harborside Event Center. This is a perfect example of Lee County governmental agencies working together to help our students.

College Night will feature approximately 100 representatives from different colleges, universities, art and culinary institutes as well as military academies. Some of the finest post-secondary institutions in the country will be represented.

These representatives reserve a booth to display information pertaining to their institution and they are there to answer any questions students or their families may have. This event is free and open to the public; however, it is targeted toward 11th and 12th grade students.
