Remembering 9/11: Local Heroes Saving Lives at Lehigh Medical Center

2 min read

What a better way to remember those who perished during the September 11 attacks than by saving lives. That’s why Florida’s Blood Centers is asking you to become a local hero by donating blood and saving lives. This September 11th join FBC and Lehigh Medical Center as the community comes together, one more time, to ensure that our local hospitals have a safe and reliable blood supply for those who need it most.

We are in urgent need of donations for all blood types. Just one donation can save three lives because it’s separated into components-red blood cells, plasma and platelets. Each donation will likely be transfused into a patient within 48 hours.

Donors will receive a free mini physical, a $25 coupon for Golfhub.com and a reusable grocery bag.

When: Friday, September 11th, 2009 10 am 2 pm

Where: Lehigh Medical Center

1500 Lee Blvd.

Lehigh Acres, FL 33936

Who: We need any person who has ever considered giving blood to please contact Florida’s Blood Centers. Blood donations help save the lives of people needing routine surgery, trauma patients, premature babies and cancer patients at local hospitals who depend on those donations for life-saving blood transfusions. The patient needing blood transfusions could be your neighbor, a family member or even yourself

The public is encouraged to call 1-888-9DONATE for center locations to make a donation. Check out eligibility questions on our web site at www.floridasbloodcenters.org
