Free NFM workshop for homeowners facing foreclosure

On Saturday, Oct. 24, Attorney General Bill McCollum and Florida’s Interagency Mortgage Task Force invite interested parties to attend a free workshop for homeowners facing foreclosure in North Fort Myers.

The workshop is titled The Housing Crisis: Who To Trust and Where to Turn.

The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at North Fort Myers High School, 5000 Orange Grove Blvd.

Subjects will include how to tell which housing services are legitimate and which are scams; reporting mortgage fraud or a foreclosure rescue scams; information about mortgage loan modifications and information for those wondering whether they need housing advice from a lawyer.

After the program, volunteer lawyers, housing counselors, state and local government representatives, and community leaders will be available to provide information and answer individual questions.

You can get information from and speak directly with government representatives, local lawyers, and other community leaders about all of these concerns and more. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. and parking is free.
