Letter from Sheriff Mike Scott on News-Press editorial
Ladies and Gentlemen:
The News-Press editorial today on the matter of me “refusing” to answer their questions is a gross inaccuracy! I am providing you with one (1) of many examples I have that clearly demonstrate my prompt and personal replies to every question they have ever asked.
Due to their consistent pattern of inaccurate and biased reporting, I decided long ago that a formal, written record of my responses to them was necessary. A written response in no way constitutes a refusal to respond as they are trying to have you believe.
I have been and remain engaged in this media market for many, many years and any of you with any tenure in this market know my track record. Simply statedI am never without comment, and I never refuse to answer questions. I have participated in many interviews this week alone; however, I refused an interview with the News-Press (Rachel Revehl) following this week’s union vote consistent with a policy she and her Editor have long been aware of.
Occasional mistakes are understandableconsistent, agenda driven cheap shots are inexcusable “Questions arise after deputy kills good guy”
