Suspect arrested in traffic stop robbery
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect Saturday in the Nov. 10 robbery of a woman at a traffic stop in North Fort Myers.
Thomas Chauncey Painter, 37, was arrested at 10:36 p.m. on Saturday in connection with the robbery at the intersection of Pine Island Road and US-41.
The victim, Ralynn Metz, told law enforcement officers that the suspect grabbed money out of her hand at the stop. The total was $150 she had just gotten from her bank.
Painter has been charged with Robbery By Sudden Snatching Without Firearm Or Weapon.
