Sweet treat for those who donate for Toys For Tots at Rosie’s
Rosie’s Gourmet Fudge Shop in the Shell Factory has long been a drop-off point for the Toys For Tots Campaign.
Owner Rosie Heuglin is currently asking locals to come by and donate a $10 unwrapped toy (with receipt) for the cause.
In exchange, anyone that donates will receive a big slice of her premium fudge, retail value $7.
“It’s something I’ve been doing a long time,” she said of the holiday charity drive.
A Cape Coral resident, she and her shop have been a fixture at the Shell Factory for almost 30 years.
Many enjoy her specialty gift platters and baskets for office and home parties, and she is currently taking orders for holiday fare. “This year we have nutcakes, fudge boxes and trays, baskets and more,” she said.
“If anyone wants me to make a special box they can call.” She will work with price and preferences for holiday family or business gatherings.
Right now she is baking up traditional and holiday-theme favorites, from her own chocolate fudge recipes to walnut, pumpkin and more.
“I love making fudge, it really is an art form, she said. “We make all of our fudge from scratch, we don’t use anything pre-mixed.
