Sheriff’s Office releases photo to help identify man

The Sheriff’s Office has released a photo of a woman found in the pocket of the man discovered floating in the water on March 12. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating or identifying this woman in hopes that it will lead to an identification of the unknown male.

In addition, the unidentified man also had two distinct tattoos. The first tattoo was the word “Ramirez” written in cursive on the top of his hand. The second was a “Praying Hands” tattoo on his shoulder. The individual was also wearing a white shell necklace.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone who might recognize the woman in the photo, or has any information concerning the identity of this man or where he may have lived, is asked to contact the Lee County Sheriffs Office at 239-477-1000.

On Friday, March 12, 2010, deputies responded to a report of a body found floating in a lake off Amberwood Lakes Court in Fort Myers. The body was that of a Hispanic male, mid-twenties to mid-thirties, average height and build, with black hair and distinctive tattoos on his right shoulder and the back of his right hand. He was wearing suit pants, black sneakers, a suit vest, and a black t-shirt. He had a wallet but did not have any identification. It is believed this individual may have been homeless and was possibly living in the Kelly Road area.

While there is no evidence suggesting foul play, the identity of the individual remains unknown and there are no missing persons matching his description. If anyone has information concerning the identity of this individual or where he may have lived, please contact the Lee County Sheriffs Office at 239-477-1000.
