Teen Arrested For Stabbing In Buckingham
On Monday, March 15, 2010, at 9:21 p.m. the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a reported stabbing at 2630 Purslane Drive in the Buckingham area of Fort Myers.
Deputies arrived on scene and discovered that Jason Campagna DOB: 04/25/1980 had received a stab would to his abdomen. Campagna had been involved in a verbal altercation with some juveniles in the neighborhood. The verbal altercation turned physical and Campagna was stabbed.
Campagna was transported to the hospital where he underwent surgery and is in serious condition.
Due to the nature of the incident, detectives with the Major Crimes Unit of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene to investigate. During the course of the investigation detectives learned fifteen year old Dustin Garrett McGee DOB: 05/17/1994 had stabbed Campagna during the altercation.
McGee was placed under arrest for Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon, a 2nd degree felony.
