Update on Pine Island stabbing
The stabbing victim has been identified as Adam D. McClenithan (DOB 12/23/88). His address is listed as 5617 Meadowlark Lane, Bokeelia.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit is asking for the public’s help in locating David T. Chavez (DOB 6/17/79) of 5526 Thomas Street, Bokeelia. Chavez has been identified as the suspect in the stabbing.
Anyone with any information on Chavez’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at (239) 477-1000 or, to remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000, contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).

Man Dies After Being Stabbed On Pine Island
On Wednesday April 28, 2010, at 8:33 p.m., the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a possible stabbing on Pine Island. The caller stated a man had come into her yard on Judith Road screaming that he had been stabbed. The victim was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital with a stab wound to his side. He later died.
Due to the nature of the incident detectives with the Major Crimes Unit of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. Detectives were able to learn the identity of the suspect. An extensive search was conducted but the suspect was not located.
