911 River Rally And Public Safety Appreciation Day At Sunsplash
The Communications Training Team of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office invites the public to the first ever “911 River Rally”, being held on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at the SunSplash Family Waterpark in Cape Coral.
The event is a duck race fundraiser aimed at raising money for communications training. The plastic ducks can be purchased for $5 and will be released into the Lazy River starting at 5 P.M. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers! All proceeds will be utilized to send 911 professionals from the Sheriff’s Office to advanced communications training classes and activities.
Ducks can be purchased by calling the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at (239) 477-1213 or (239) 477-1222. They can also be purchased at SunSplash beginning at 10 A.M. the day of the event. A total of 2000 ducks will be available for the race.
May 23 is also “Public Safety Appreciation Day” at SunSplash and all public safety members that do not reside in Cape Coral will be admitted at the same price as Cape Coral residents, ($4.00 off) if they have their employee ID. The discount will be good for up to four people attending with the employee.
