NFM Rotary gets District Awards, announces scholarship recipients
The Rotary Rotary Club of North Fort Myers picked up several prestigious awards at the annual Rotary District Conference, both for the club and for a member.
“Our club won the Governor’s Award For Excellence and a Presidential Citation,” said Westberry.
Danielle Hall, owner of Bayshore Physical Therapy & Massage, who was named Rotarian of the Year last year for the local chapter, was honored with a Distinguished Service Award of District 6960.
The North Fort Myers Rotary Club also bestowed scholarships and distinctions to three local North Fort Myers students at their recent meeting.
“These are three excellent choices by the Rotary,” said North Fort Myers High School Principal and Rotarian Kimberley Lunger. “They all deserve this honor.”
Scholarship and award winners included Zachary Fischer, Rachel Cicoria and Meagan Griffin.
Fischer will be attending the University of Florida in the fall. “I’m majoring in history and am looking forward to the experience and the challenge of academics.”
Circoria will attend Edison College and major in psychology. “It is an opportunity to focus more on something I am really interested in,” said Cicoria.
Service Above Self award recipient was Meagan Griffin. “I’ll be going to the University of South Florida, majoring in nursing,” she said. “I’m the first generation of my family to go to college, and just to get accepted and to have the whole experience is what I am looking forward to.”
