Uncommon Evening date announced

Tickets are available for the Uncommon Evening being held Thursday, June 3, at Harborside Event Center, 1375 Monroe Street, Fort Myers. During the annual event of the Uncommon Friends Foundation, the fifth annual Business Ethics Award recipient will be announced. The Uncommon Evening will begin at 6:00 p.m. Individual tickets are $60. Tables of eight are available for $500. Sponsorships are also available.

Other features of the gala evening will be the presentation of Character Education Teacher Awards, 25 scholarship recipients, and an honorary life membership.

The Uncommon Friends Foundation’s recognition of teachers who utilize the foundation’s curriculum began with their nomination by principals and fellow teachers and were evaluated by the foundation’s education committee. The scholarship recipients were nominated by various schools and organizations and are recognized based on financial need and their potential to succeed in their educational endeavors; they were selected by the foundation’s scholarship committee members.

The Uncommon Friends Foundation, established in 1993, is a character education foundation whose mission is to instill ethics, moral values and a sense of purpose in tomorrow’s leaders. The foundation is dedicated to enriching society by promoting the positive values author James D. Newton discovered in five unique men and their wives-Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Harvey Firestone, Dr. Alexis Carrel, and Charles Lindbergh-intellectual giants who helped shape the 20th Century.
