Estero Bank Robbery, male or female?

On Thursday, July 08, 2010, at approximately 3:48 P.M., deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Wachovia Bank, located at 10870 Miromar Outlet Drive, Estero, in reference to an armed robbery. Due to the nature of the incident, detectives assigned to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Robbery Unit assumed the investigation.

Once on scene, detectives learned an unknown individual, either male or female, entered the bank, approached the teller and demanded money. No weapons were displayed during the incident, although the suspect implied that he/she was carrying one. The suspect then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and walked in the direction of the Miromar Outlets. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office Aviation and K-9 Units responded to assist in the investigation but did not locate the suspect. Customers were present inside the bank during the robbery, but there were no injuries.

The suspect is described as a while male or female, 65-70 years old, 5’0″, wearing a black and white nylon sweater, khaki hat and white pants.
