Most Wanted Murder Suspect Captured

2 min read

On Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at 4:35 p.m., the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a suspicious person. The incident occurred in the same vicinity as an earlier search for wanted murder suspect, 22 year old Timothy Tuttle. Deputies arrived on scene within a few minutes and a perimeter was established.

The caller had described a white male with blonde hair, no shirt and black shorts standing near the corner of a building where Frito Lay delivery trucks were parked in the south end of the industrial park off Jetport Loop. The last known description of Tuttle was the same as provided by the citizen. Additional support personnel responded to include the Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit, Traffic Unit, K-9’s and Fugitive Warrants detectives. Sightings reported by the public continued to be received and dispatched to the law enforcement members on the ground and in the air. As the suspect continued to move between trees, bushes and an open field, a Sheriff’s Office K-9 team was deployed and the flight crew coordinated efforts. The suspect was observed on multiple occasions attempting to hide. Finally, he began to move west toward I-75. Units converged. Tuttle raised his hands and was taken into custody without further incident at approximately 5:37 p.m.

Timothy Tuttle has been booked into the Lee County Jail. His latest inmate photo is attached to this press release.
