Sponsorships available for food bank golf fund raiser
Golfers in Southwest Florida have an opportunity to participate in a golf outing while benefitting the Harry Chapin Food Bank. Blu Sushi is holding a golf tournament on Sunday, September 12, with proceeds going to the food bank’s “Feeding the New Hungry” program. The golf tournament will be held at The Club at the Renaissance, 12801 Renaissance Way, Fort Myers.
Registration for the golf tournament is limited. The individual cost for participating is $150 per person; players can have a maximum 25 handicap. Teams will be flighted by team handicaps. A parings party will be held on Saturday, September 11, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Blue Sushi McGregor Blvd. location. A championship flight Calcutta Auction will begin at 8:00 p.m.
A complimentary continental breakfast and Bloody Mary bar will be held between7:30 and 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 12, at the golf course. The shotgun start will begin at 8:30 a.m. Players will be invited to participate in the complimentary, cookout and awards presentation at Blue Sushi Gulf Coast Town Center, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Additional lunch guest tickets must be purchased in advance from Blu Sushi; tickets are $20.
Individuals are invited to visit any Blu Sushi location with two items of nonperishable food between August 1 and September 12 to receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win Blu Sushi gift certificates.
Donations for the raffle and auction are needed. Sponsorships for holes, putting, beverage cart, breakfast, and lunch are available and range from $125 to $2,250. In addition, Help Feed Your Neighbors, Local Community, and Southwest Florida sponsorships are available, ranging from $100 to $1,000.
Golfing and luncheon checks are to be made payable to Blu Sushi; all sponsorship and donation checks are to be made payable to the Harry Chapin Food Bank. The Harry Chapin Food Bank solicits, collects and stores quality food for distribution to families in need through a network of more than 170 local nonprofit agencies in Lee, Collier, Hendry, Charlotte and Glades counties, who provide food to more than 30,000 people monthly. 800,935 pounds of food are distributed monthly. In the past fiscal year, The Harry Chapin Food Bank distributed more than 9.6 million pounds of food and other grocery products.
