Halloween bash to be a ‘Thriller’

3 min read

Look for football parties, Ladies’ Nights and a cool Halloween bash from The Shell Factory’s Capt’n Fishbones restaurant and it’s Dolphin Club, a revamped area within the restaurant.

A number of new offerings have revitalized the entire spot.

New Food and Beverage Director Stone Pilkenton has introduced many new features in the last few months, features, locals said, that will appeal to a wide range of residents.

When Pilkenton first arrived a few months ago, he launched Saturday Dance Nights in the restaurant’s Dolphin Club. Now there are an array of new offerings, including an upcoming Halloween bash that is sure to thrill Michael Jackson fans.

A lead dancer from the iconic “King of Pop” Michael Jackson’s video known as “Thriller” will be on hand to lend fun to the event. Fort Myers’ resident Cheryl Sington, who is known as “The Zombie Bride” in the video, will attend the event and lead a “Thriller” line dance, said Pilkenton.

“This Halloween party will be off the charts. We are billing this as the ‘Thriller Night at The Shell Factory,'” he said. “We’re also partnering with a costume rental company, giving away discounted costume rentals for the ghoulish adult Halloween party.”

It was an experience dancer Sington said she will never forget. She recently attended an event with horror classic director John Landis in Orlando that featured the video.

The event is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 22.

Other new offerings include the restaurant getting the NFL Package. TVs throughout the restaurant will play the games. “We’ll start Thursday, Sept. 9, with the Minnesota Vikings at the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints,” he said. There will be drink and food specials every game day.

DJ “Dr. John” Nichols helps with the Thursday Ladies Night and Friday Retro 80’s Night. “I was with the Classic Rock 99X,” he said, of his local claim to fame.

He also said he is looking forward to the Halloween bash with Sington. “She now runs The Dance Warehouse located on Metro Parkway.”

With the DJ, Pilkenton said, you can actually call in requests from your cell phone, while relaxing at your table. “He takes any and all requests, and you can actually really phone them in.”

“Through November we are giving a Ladies Night Card, on Thursday and Friday nights, where you get a sticker with the purchase of every cocktail, for a $10 discount you can redeem at the Shell Factory shops,” he added.

Another new special is a breakfast Sunday mornings from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you like Bloody Marys, the restaurant will feature a Bloody Mary Bar. “It’s like a buffet in a glass,” said Pilkenton. “We’ll have ingredients including mixes, different types of olives, cheese, pepperoni, peppercinis and more.”

The menu will range from $2.95 to $9.95 for Sunday breakfast.

Reservations for the Halloween party are suggested.
