Fort Myers Fitness Event to Impact Local Youth Program
Local businesses and organizations are banding together to impact the ever-growing issue of teen obesity. Thoroughbred Youth Athletics, a Lee County 501C3 organization, is holding the first annual Weekend Warrior Fitness Challenge on Saturday October 23rd. Participants can chose from various fitness events including a 5K fun run or walk, a 5, 10, or 20 mile bike ride and/or a bootcamp-style Crossfit challenge. Both athletes and non-athletes alike are encouraged to attend, have fun and learn more about the highly innovative youth program. Early registration is $30 with day of registration being $40. All proceeds go to the Thoroughbred Youth Athletics program, which provides health and fitness mentoring classes to local youth at reduced or no charge.
The event will last from 9am to 12:00 pm with raffles and food from 12 to 1 and fitness demonstrations from 1-3. It will be held in the TBY Athletics facility within Zuleta’s Indoor Batting Cages at 11495 S. Cleveland Ave, just behind Stevie Tomatoes Sports Page on US 41. For registration information and details please reach out to Jay Kollar, President of Thoroughbred Youth Athletics, at 239-233-6783 or visit them online at www.tbyathletics.org.
