School district employees including Tropic Isles interim principal honored by Florida Sterling Council
Lee County Public Schools is proud to announce that three employees have been recognized by the Florida Sterling Council.
Don Bryant, principal of Fort Myers Middle Academy, has been promoted to Lead Examiner within the Sterling Examiner Corp. Brandy Macchia, interim principal of Tropic Isles Elementary and Cindy McClung, coordinator for Curriculum and Staff Development, have been promoted to Senior Examiner status.
These promotions were based upon recommendations from the Sterling Examiner Committee, which considered criteria such as exemplary participation as a Sterling Examiner over the past years, as well as contributions to the professional development, teamwork and networking of the Sterling Examiner Corps. Additional consideration was given to years of service, number of site visits completed and recommendations from team leaders.
Mr. Bryant, Ms. Macchia, and Ms. McClung’s participation in the Sterling Examiner Corp is one strategy toward helping the District meet District Strategic Plan Goal I: creating systems of teaching and learning that will ensure each student reaches his or her highest potential, and District Strategic Plan Goal VIII: creating an organizational design to achieve our mission and objectives. Their expertise in the Sterling Criteria will be beneficial to the District’s objective of receiving external review and recognition of use of Quality principles within the District.
