Update on NFM Water Resource Projects

Lee County Commissioner Tammy Hall has submitted the following update on NFM Water Resource Projects to date.

Clean and Snag Projects (North Fort Myers) 2008 to 2010

Total Project cost = $204,000

Individual projects range from $2000 to $25,000

Bayshore Creek @ Hunters Glen- Removal of invasive vegetation & debris from 2000 lf of natural creek west of Pritchett Pkwy.

Bayshore Creek @ Nalle Grade Pk Removal of invasive vegetation & debris from 1600 lf waterway at Nalle Grade Park.

Daughtreys Creek Removal of invasive vegetation & debris from 3400 lf of natural creek from Nalle Grade north and an additional 1500 lf of ditch flowing into creek.

Palm Creek Removal of downed Australian pine that fell during a storm and was blocking the creek .

Palm Creek Removal of invasive vegetation and debris from 1500 lf of creek south of Bayshore Rd.

Popash Creek Removal of invasive vegetation and debris from 3000 lf of waterway west of I75.

Powell Creek Removal of invasive vegetation and debris from 1200 lf of Powell Creek west of Hart Rd.

Powell Creek Herbicidal treatment of invasive vegetation (Wild taro) from around culverts at Bayshore Rd. and Old Bayshore Roads.

NFM Culvert Maintenance Removal of invasive vegetation & debris from around end of culverts at:

Bayshore Creek @ Rich and Dosonte Rd.

Popash Creek @ Henderson Grade

Stroud Creek @ St. Paul Rd

Neighborhood Improvement Projects (North Fort Myers) 2008 to 2010

Project cost = $233,000

Individual projects range from $9000 to $81,000

Bartholomew Dr. Ditch Cleaning (Suncoast)

Henderson Grade Culvert Replacement @ Bayshore Creek

Whispering Pines Drainage Improvements (Swale grading connecting s. end of Jamie Rd to Popash Creek Preserve

Lee Civic Center Ditch Cleaning (north & northwest side of Civic center )to provide improved drainage for Old Bayshore Rd.

Civic Center Stormwater System Maintenance replacement/installation of stormwater structures along Kickapoo Creek at Lee County Civic Center site.

Tucker, Case, Payne & Gish Lane Ditch Cleaning (Suncoast)

Timberbend Drainage Improvements restore drainage conveyance
