Weekly Traffic Update from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office

The Network of Employers for Traffic Safety has designated October 4th through the 8th as “Drive Safely Work Week.” This year their safety focus is distracted driving. One of the most common distractions leading to traffic crashes is the use of a cellular phone. Remember this tip: pull over somewhere safe to talk or text.

Monday, October 4, 2010, the Traffic Unit will target at least one of the following three locations for enforcement:

1. Ben C. Pratt Six-Mile Cypress Parkway, Fort Myers

2. Burnt Store Road, Cape Coral

3. Cockleshell Drive, Bonita Springs

Tuesday, October 5, 2010, the Traffic Unit will target at least one of the following three locations for enforcement:

1. Laurel Drive, North Fort Myers

2. College Parkway, Fort Myers

3. Sunshine Boulevard, Lehigh Acres

Wednesday, October 6, 2010, the Traffic Unit will target at least one of the following three locations for enforcement:

1. West Terry Street, Bonita Springs

2. Cypress Lake Drive @ U.S. 41, Fort Myers

3. North River Road (State Road 78), Alva

Thursday, October 7, 2010, the Traffic Unit will target at least one of the following three locations for enforcement:

1. Staley Road, Fort Myers

2. Beth Stacey Boulevard, Lehigh Acres

3. Trafalgar Parkway, Cape Coral

Friday, October 8, 2010, the Traffic Unit will target at least one of the following three locations for enforcement:

1. Coconut Road, Bonita Springs

2. Kelly Road, Fort Myers

3. North Tamiami Trail (Business U.S. 41), North Fort Myers
