Festival de las Americas at Shell Factory Dec. 4 and 5 to feature grammy winner Grupo Mania and Voz de Mando

On Saturday, Dec. 4 and Sunday, Dec. 5, The Shell Factory & Nature Park will host The Festival de las Americas which celebrates the Hispanic Culture.

D Latinos/Azteca SWFL announced the signing of international recording artists and Grammy winners Grupo Mania to the roster of acts performing at the festival along with Voz de Mando.

The festival is focused on traditional and folkloric music, arts, and children’s activities. Attendees will be able to enjoy traditional Latin food from countries including Puerto Rico, Cuba, Mexico, Peru and Panama.

Times for the event are Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Besides Grupo Mania, entertainment will include Spanish Clown Galacctin, dancers from Brazil, Puerto Rico and Mexico, demonstrations of Latin Dance techniques, group salsa lessons and Mayela Rosales and Carlos Zapata from D Latinos TV Show; al Dia will be there to sign autographs.

Artists from various countries include the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Columbia and others, who will present their work in the Dolphin Club located next to the property’s Seafood and Steak House; Capt n Fishbones.

Promoters are hopeful that the festival will draw an estimated crowd of 6,000-8,000. This will be a festival for the family. They will come not only to enjoy the day but to celebrate Hispanic heritage and to share traditions.

“We are thrilled to add this event to our ever increasing list of ‘Fests’ held throughout the year,” said festival coordinator Pam Cronin.

Proceeds will benefit the Nature Park Environmental Education Foundation and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s scholarship fund. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door and kids under 12 free.
