Gay and Gary Luters, North Fort Myers residents for nearly two decades, both said this election was crucial in our country.

Polls were busy in North Fort Myers today, especially in Precinct 119.

Johnny Mangrum, who oversaw that precinct, said it was “extremely busy.”

“By 2 p.m. we already had twice the voters as we did throughout the entire Primary Election.”

He said he also worked with the early voting office in Cape Coral. “We were busy everyday.”

She noted that many parents and grandparents brought small children with them. “The children really liked the “I voted” stickers.”

Bayshore residents only, in precincts 1, 39, 67 and 155 are asked to vote on a millage increase for the Bayshore Fire & Rescue District. The vote is on a millage cap increase from 3.5 to 3.75 mills.

In the State Representative District 71 race, a few areas are voting on the race between Ken Roberson (incumbent) and Andrew Frank Saltman.

Also, the State Representative District 72 election, which is shared with Lehigh Acres, has Paige Kreegel unopposed.
