Person Of Interest Sought In North Fort Myers Break-in

2 min read

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying a person of interest, who detectives believe may have information about a recent break-in at a North Fort Myers laundromat.

Sometime during the evening hours of Saturday, November 20th and Sunday morning, November 21, an unidentified person smashed through the front window of the Star Plaza Laundromat at 1246 N. Tamiami Trail, North Fort Myers. Once inside the building, the thief damaged three game machines, to the tune of about $1,300, then stole approximately $400 in quarters from the machines. An ATM covering was also removed in an attempt to get inside, however it appears the suspect was unsuccessful at that venture.

Detectives on scene found a pair of pliers left at the scene, which the owner said were

not there before. There was also some blood near the game machines and on the floor,

indicating the thief injured himself during the crime.

Surveillance video captured images of a white male who may have witnessed, or have

information, on the crime. If anyone recognizes the man in these photos, they’re asked to

call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and

will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000. Tips may also be made online at
