Red Sox 2011 Spring Training tickets on sale Jan. 8

Tickets will be available beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011 at City of Palms Park box office, on www.redsox.com, or by calling 888-REDSOX6. Handicap accessible seating is also available by calling 877-REDSOX9. Hearing impaired patrons may call the TTY line at 617-226-6644.

The ticket on-sale will be the first opportunity for fans to secure 2011 Spring Training tickets. Fans are invited to enjoy the festivities at City of Palms Park from noon through 3 p.m. in conjunction with the ticket on-sale which will include the first annual Taste of the Ballpark, a free Kids’ Clinic and more.

The Taste of the Ballpark will offer fans the opportunity to purchase ballpark favorites prepared by local restaurants, including The Prawnbroker, University Grill, Lush, The Morgan House, First Watch, Chloe’s, Nauti Mermaid, Marker 92 and Shoeless Joe’s. Free activities will include a Kids’ Clinic hosted by Red Sox personnel and children are also invited to run the bases at City of Palms Park. Attendees can also participate in a raffle to benefit the Red Sox Foundation. Fans will have the chance to win autographed Sox items, gift certificates and more with one lucky fan winning two season tickets for Red Sox 2011 Spring Training season, the final year at City of Palms Park. Special Sox prize packs will be randomly given away to those fans showing the most Red Sox spirit during the course of the day.

In addition to the festivities on Jan. 8, Fenway Ambassadors and Red Sox staff, along with Wally the Green Monster and the 2004 and 2007 World Series Trophies, will kick-off the weekend with visits to Shell Point Retirement Community and Shady Oaks Unit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County Friday, Jan. 7, 2011.
