The musical group A Family Affair will present “Sweet Dreams at the Opry” at Tara Woods on Saturday, Jan. 8.

It is an original all-star musical salute to the greatest country legends, featuring the music of Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, Jim Reeves, Crystal Gayle, Ray Stevens, and more.

Pine Lakes resident Frank Faziolli wrote the musical review.

“Before my wife Linda and I left Cincinnati four years ago, we were the opening act for The Temptations, The Drifters and The Van-dells,” he said.

He wanted to put on a top show here in North Fort Myers.

In writing the show, he said, “My goal was to have fun, and choose songs that people will say ‘I know that!’ and sing along. We picked those kind of songs. I was very careful to use cross-over hits. So if someone doesn’t like country, they still like the song.”

The show also has a lot of comedy, he said.

The cast of the upcoming Sweet Dreams show includes Johnny and Patty Russo, Stephanie Norris, Jackie Walsh, Johnny K. Dianna Louise, Cecil and Patty Cox and Linda and Frank Faziolli.

It truly is a family affair, hence the group’s name.

“Two years ago we (he and wife Linda) incorporated into a group called FAZZ Live and my brother-in-law and sister (Cecil and Patty Cox) had a group called Tribute To The Stars. We put the family together and became A Family Affair. Now have about 30 shows booked in all different communities from here to Bonita Springs. We’re booked New Year’s Eve three years out.”

Other players join them. “One fellow, Johnny K. is coming from Cincinnati to do the show, and does the songs of Gentleman Jim Reeves.”

Of opening for groups as big as The Temptations, The Drifters and The Van-dells, he said, “There are all just great people, fun to work with. On the night we did the show with The Drifters, they brought my wife Linda up on stage for the ending number and she sang lead for ‘Under The Boardwalk'”.
