You can sell or shop at the upcoming North Park’s Annual Flea Market, to be held on Saturday, Jan. 22, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The park hosts many big events throughout the year annually, including the popular Fall Fest. “This may not be our biggest event, but it is the most fun,” said Park Senior Recreation Specialist Christine Susterich. “Everyone that comes, sellers and buyers, are fun, friendly, down-to-earth people.”

This will be the ninth year for the event. Many attend year after year to find treasures or useful items. “We do have the same people coming back year after year and we’ve built a relationship with them,” said Senior Parks and Recreation Specialist Libby Olive. “Our vendors are why the flea market is always so successful.”

Attending flea markets have become one of the area’s most popular things to do. “Because of the economy people are turning to flea markets more and more,” said Lee Parks & Recreation official Mabel Vega. “Our annual Fall Fest and Easter Egg Race where very successful again this year, and I’m confident this will be another great event.”

It has been so successful in the past and already getting so much interest that they have scheduled another flea Market for Saturday, March 5.

There are still vendor spots available, a limited number inside the building and under the pavilion for only $10 a table and many more for $5 on the football fields.

The park is located at 2021 N. Tamiami Trail behind the North Fort Myers Library.
