Bomb Threat Called Into Cypress Lake High School
On Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at approximately 7:15 a.m., the Lee County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a bomb threat that had been called into Cypress Lake High School, 6750 Panther Lane, Fort Myers. The unidentified caller indicated a bomb had been placed in the school.
School officials immediately notified the School Resource Officer and together they implemented their school safety plan. Students were evacuated while members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad and two bomb K9s conducted a safety sweep of the building. There were no devices located as a result of this safety sweep.
Anyone with information on the identity of the caller is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).
