Person Of Interest Sought In Two False Bomb Threats
Crime Stoppers needs your help tracking down a 17 year old Fort Myers teen, wanted for questioning in two of the false bomb threats made last week in Lee County.
Timothy Florian, DOB 2/1/94, is believed to have information in two of the six false bomb threats called into Lee County Schools last week alone. Detectives say Florian is associated with the March 22nd bomb threat at Riverdale High School, and the subsequent March 23rd bomb threat at South Fort Myers High School.
Two other students, Stephen Wright and Adam Thirtle, have already been arrested and charged with the felony crimes of calling in false bomb threats to Cypress Lake High School and Oak Hammock Middle School, respectively, last week. Both students were arrested as a result of anonymous tips called into Crime Stoppers, and the tipsters in both cases have been rewardedmonetarily.
Both the Riverdale and South Fort Myers High School bomb threats were called in during school hours, prompting the evacuation of both schools’ students and staff, the disruption of all school activities and, in the South Fort Myers threat, the medical treatment of two students by EMS for heat exhaustion. In addition, the false threats mandated the diversion of manpower and resources from both the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, EMS and area fire departments.
Florian is a former student at Riverdale High School, who never showed back up at school following a stint at the Juvenile Detention Center. He had been living with his grandparents in the Fort Myers Shores area, however he’s since gone into hiding and no one claims to have seen or heard from him since last Friday, March 25. Florian is believed to be a transient, possibly staying with friends and associates in the Fort Myers Shores area.
He has two previous felony arrests, both at the age of 15, when he was charged with burglary and grand theft. The victim said Florian and a friend walked into her garage, then refused to leave when asked. The two followed the victim inside the house, despite her repeated demands to leave, then untied her bathing suit top. When she left the room to change, Florian and his friend stole a number of items, including a camera and Nintendo DS system. Florian was arrested shortly thereafter, and was sentenced to a few weeks in lock down at the Juvenile Detention Center.
Florian is a Brooklyn, NY, native, who is 5’8″, 140 pounds and has tattoos of the letters TF on his back and the name Leslie on his right arm. Crime Stoppers is looking for any information on his whereabouts, and reminds the public that anyone who is hiding Florian out may also face criminal charges for harboring a fugitive.
In addition to the search for Florian, Crime Stoppers is also seeking information on the remaining two false bomb threats at Dunbar High School and ALC, which also occurred within that short time span last week.
Anyone with information on Florian’s whereabouts, or on the Dunbar High or ALC false bomb threats, is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000. Tips may also be made online atwww.swflcrimestoppers.org or via the TipSubmit app on any iPhone.
