HE QUOTABLE EDISON AVAILABLE

AT BOOK SIGNING MARCH 14

“Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration.” This is one of Thomas Edison’s most famous quotes. And it is incorporated into the new book, The Quotable Edison, which will be on display and available for purchase during an author’s book signing on Monday, March 14, at the Burroughs Home on the Caloosahatchee in the River District, Fort Myers.

The book signing will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The book retails for $24.95.

Southwest Florida residents have come to know Thomas Edison as “The Wizard of Menlo Park.” He was a prolific inventor and holder of numerous patents. Most don’t know him as a practical joker and a self-made man. The Quotable Edison offers a wealth of his insightful, enlightening, and sometimes humorous comments and witticisms on a wide range of subjects, from business to politics, from religion to nutrition, from advice to boys to opinions on women’s clothing.

Author Michele Wehrwein Albion will be on hand to discuss the book and provide autographs. She grew up in Maine and has degrees from the University of Maine and George Washington University. Before becoming a writer, Albion worked at a number of museums including Fort Western Museum, The Maine State Museum, The U.S. Holocaust Museum, and The Edison and Ford Winter Estates.

While curator at the Edison and Ford Winter Estates, Albion was fascinated with both Thomas and Mina Edison. The Florida Life of Thomas Edison was published in 2008. The Quotable Edison has just been released; the book was a top ten seller in its Amazon category before it was even released. Her third book, The Quotable Henry Ford, is at the publisher.

While at the Edison and Ford Winter Estates from 1992-1997 she was an early member of the Uncommon Friends Foundation and developed a relationship with Jim and Eleanor Newton before they passed away.

The Uncommon Friends Foundation, established in 1993, is a character education foundation whose mission is to instill ethics, moral values and a sense of purpose in tomorrow’s leaders. The foundation is dedicated to enriching society by promoting the positive values author James D. Newton discovered in five unique men and their wives-Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Harvey Firestone, Dr. Alexis Carrel, and Charles Lindbergh-intellectual giants who helped shape the 20th Century.
