Local Hurricane/Emergency Preparedness Seminar announced

Good Shepherd United Methodist Church will host a Hurricane/Emergency Preparedness Seminar on Wednesday, April 27 at 2 p.m. at the church, located at 2951 Trail Dairy Circle (across from Del Tura Country Club) in North Fort Myers.

This is the third seminar that has been held for anyone in the community who are either heading north or staying here on how to safeguard their homes, evacuate if needed and other important information.

There will be presentations from:

Terry Pye, Chief of the North Fort Myers fire department

Gerald Campbell, Chief of Planning from the Lee County Emergency Management Office

Terry Cerullo, from the Florida Department of Financial services, and

Lauren Casey, WINK-TV Meteorologist

All will answer any questions about preparing your home in case of a hurricane or severe weather, predictions of the upcoming season and best evacuation plans. Lee County Hazard Guides and other information will be available for the attendees to take home.

This seminar is free to the public and all are welcome to attend.
