Accused Murderer Added To Crime Stoppers 10 Most Wanted
A 32 year old Fort Myers man, wanted for shooting and killing a woman two days ago, has been added this afternoon to Crime Stoppers 10 Most Wanted list.
Connell Carroll, DOB 3/8/79, stands accused of the second degree murder of Nicole L. Smith, who was shot during an altercation Sunday, May 29th, then later died as a result of those injuries. Fort Myers Police have named Carroll as their prime suspect in this case.
According to detectives, Carroll dropped his gun at the scene and fled on foot, and hasn’t been seen for the last two days.
Carroll has an extensive history of violence, with nine prior arrests in Lee County. Born
and raised in Fort Myers, Carroll was arrested in 2003 for burglary and aggravated
assault, in 2006 for kidnapping/false imprisonment and battery, in 2007 on a bench
warrant for battery charges, and again in 2007 for violating an injunction for protection
against Danielle Blackburn. Blackburn secured an initial injunction against Carroll in 2006
after enduring several beatings, and then a second injunction against him in 2008.
Blackburn was found murdered in her Fort Myers apartment just a few months later,
however no arrests have yet been made in that case.
Carroll is likely still in the Lee County area, and should be considered armed and
dangerous. He is 6’0″, 160 pounds and may use the alias of “Moy Moy.” He has several
tattoos, including the phrase “laugh now, cry later” on his chest, a picture of a naked
woman on his right arm, and burn marks on his left forearm. Anyone with information on
Carroll’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All
callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000. Tips
