Suspect in the CVS Robbery in custody
Update July 21, 2011, 6:30 p.m.:
The suspect in the CVS Robbery has been identified as John Drew (DOB 7/13/1976). He is currently in the custody of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation is ongoing at this time. Additional information will be released when it is available.
Original Release July 21, 2011, 4:14 p.m.:
On Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 12:31 p.m. the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from the CVS Store located at 6391 Bayshore Road, North Fort Myers. The caller stated the pharmacy had been robbed.
Responding deputies quickly established a perimeter. K-9 and Aviation Units also responded but the suspect was not located.
The suspect is described as a white male in his early to mid thirties, between 5’7″ and 5’9″, wearing a turquoise Miami Dolphins baseball cap, a red shirt, and blue jean shorts. The suspect walked in the store, went to the pharmacy and demanded medications. There was no weapon displayed. After receiving the medication he fled in an unknown direction.
