Update 8/4/2011

Cape Coral Toll Plaza Demolition/Reconstruction

Construction began on the demolition and reconstruction of the toll plaza. Beginning Wednesday, August 10 through Thursday, August 11, during the nighttime/overnight hours of 11 p.m. -6 a.m., the eastbound lanes of the Cape Coral bridge will be closed to traffic. Crews will be setting up barrier walls for a new traffic pattern at the Cape Coral Toll Plaza.

At 6 a.m. Thursday, August 11, motorists can expect the two eastbound lanes to be shifted to the south (to lanes 9 and 10).

Effective immediately, “oversized load” trucks are NOT permitted through the travel lanes of Cape Coral Toll plaza (in either direction). This includes oversized load trucks with State permits. Oversized load truckers should use the Midpoint or north bridges for access to Fort Myers while the toll plaza is under construction.
