Man Arrested On First Day of Probation With Cloned Credit Cards in NFM
On Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at approximately 2:20 p.m., a detective with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Highway Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop on I-75 at mile marker 143 in North Fort Myers. The 2002 Ford Explorer had excessively dark windows and was observed traveling under the posted speed limit for over 2 miles. The vehicle was occupied by two adults and two children. During the traffic stop, detectives had conversations with the adult male driver and the adult female passenger and discovered the two had conflicting travel plans.
The driver, Ricardo Ignacio Pulido Armada, had been placed on probation earlier today and was coming from a probation appointment in Pinellas County for a credit card cloning case. A consent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of (9) counterfeit / cloned credit cards that were concealed inside Armada’s shoes. These false credit cards contained the information of victims of credit card fraud and identity theft in the magnetic strips.
Pulido Armada was arrested and has been charged with several felonies for the credit cards and also for violating his brand new probation. The case will be turned over to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Economic Crimes Unit for further investigation.
Ricardo Ignacio Pulido Armada (DOB 11/12/69), of 4840 SW 5TH Street, Miami, FL, has been arrested and charged as follows:
Possession of a counterfeit credit cards (9 counts)
Violation of probation
