1 min read

On Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at 12:25 am, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a call for medical assistance. The incident occurred near the intersection of Anaconda Avenue South and Meadow Road, a remote area of Lehigh Acres. Deputies and Lehigh Acres Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the vicinity.

Approximately 15 minutes after arrival, deputies located an individual in a wooded area. Paramedics pronounced the male subject deceased and deputies secured the scene. Due to the limited visibility, a large area was cordoned off to prevent disturbing any potential indicators of what transpired or potential evidence if a crime occurred. Daylight will allow crime scene personnel the ability to search the area further and continue documenting the scene.

Meanwhile, detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit have been assigned to investigate. They will not confirm the extent or type of injury sustained by the man. He has not been positively identified at this time. The District 21 Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

No other details are being released at this time.
