ANDREA GALABINSKI Bearded Dragons Henry and Henrietta are back home at the Shell Factory Nature Park.

After three break-ins in 10 days and exotic animals stolen, two bearded dragons have been returned to the Shell Factory’s Nature Park.

“Their names are Henry and Henrietta and we’re ecstatic to have them back,” said Nature Park acting Director Karen Schneider. “They will have to go through a three-week quarantine because we don’t know what they’ve been exposed to. That’s safety for them and for our other animals.”

“We’re hoping to have a homecoming party for them in about three weeks, date to be announced,” she said.

It is a very active investigation, said Sgt. Stephanie Eller, of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. “We are hoping to get all the animals back.”

The dragons were returned anonymously.

Two alligators, two leopard geckos and two green iguanas are still missing.

“That includes Iggy, a popular iguana, and one of his many girlfriends,” Schneider said.

The dragons’ release from quarantine will coincide with the Nature Park’s new hours.

Starting in October, the Nature Park will be open until 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

“Starting in November we will be open seven days a week,” she said.

“The break-ins were a very sad occurrence with a happy ending,” said Shell Factory spokesperson Pamela Cronin. “The Lee County Sheriff’s Office got on the case immediately, and we have had several concerned members of the community who have called and are considering donating animals to replace those that were taken. Gotta love the human spirit, there are always silver linings.”
